The War plugin is complete so now Gabe and I are moving on to our next project. Before we talk about that though we wanted to mention we really hit two birds with one stone in this War plugin; how so? We created a simple event listener that checks players towns and nations. We used this class to create an artificial party system within towny. In simple terms, you can no longer hurt members of your town and nation in pvp. Moving on now.
With pvp balance gone the duel system has a chance to be polished some. We were reading some suggestions from recently and a long time ago and have noticed many complaints about the current system. We have a few new features to introduce to duel, here is the list so far but feel free to expand on it.
- Multiple duel arenas with level select: Everyone has a different preference of location situation in duel. Some may say an arena is tiny or big, has too many obstructions. With this feature you will be able to choose from multiple duel locations instead of just one.
- Wagers: The current duel system only allows the waging of in game currency so we want to expand upon that and include items. Before you begin a duel you can place items to wager into a chest and so may your partner. Once BOTH of you agree on what to use as a wager the duel can begin.
- Practice 1v1s: In the current duel system players must only bring their own gear which sort of sucks. You always have to decide if the duel is givebacks and there is a risk of being scammed. With the wager the scamming is not an issue but on the gear question; what if the duel supplied you with gear? More people would want to 1v1 if they had nothing to lose. "But Dolphin, won't the duel arena always be in use?", good question. That is why there will be multiple duel arenas available to be used simultaneously.
